What is Mulesing Free?
To prevent flies from laying eggs in the skin folds of Merino sheep, the wrinkled skin on the rear ends of Merino lambs is cut off with sharp scissors without anesthesia. The wounds are usually not treated afterward. Animal rights activists around the world have long protested this cruel practice. Nevertheless, many farmers in Australia continue to practice it. All our Merino is guaranteed mulesing-free.
